Worsening power crisis: Rs 10 bn released on PM orders

ISLAMABAD: The Finance Ministry has released Rs 10 billion for procurement of oil in a bid to overcome crippling energy crisis gripping the country, Geo News reported Monday.



A spokesman for the Prime Minister House said that PM Mir Hazar Khan Khoso chaired a high level meeting to review power crisis. The PM was apprised that Rs 10 billion had been released on his directives.

The prime minister directed authorities to link 56.4 megawatt Wind Power Project to the national grid within 48 hours.

The HESCO chief told the prime minister that transmission lines had been laid to link the project to the national grid.
