LAHORE: US ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson Friday met prime minster-in-waiting Nawaz Sharif in Lahore and exchanged views over bilateral relations, SAMAA reported. 
Sources said the US envoy congratulated Nawaz Sharif on the success of his party in May 11 general election and hoped it will help further strengthen democracy in the country, adding that Nawaz and Olson discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties. 
The US envoy vowed that his country would continue to support Islamabad for continuity of democracy in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, German ambassador to Pakistan Cyrill Nunn met Shahbaz Sharif in Raiwind. Shahbaz, who is PML-N’s central leader, has been nominated for Chief Minister Punjab slot. -- SAMAA
